Halotherapy

Halotherapy

Halotherapy, derived from the Greek alas, meaning "salt", is a form of alternative medicine which makes use of salt. Numerous forms of halotherapy have been known of and used for millennia. The first mention of spa resorts was in Poland in records dating from the twelfth century. They relate to bathing in mineral waters.

Salt is known to be:
anti-bacterial
mucolytic (loosens mucus & phlegm)
anti-inflammatory

For centuries, people used naturally-occurring salt caves to treat respiratory ailments. Today, manmade salt rooms recreate salt caves, so you can breathe the salt air deep into your lungs.

Salt room as a medical procedure:You can meet a commercial salt room in hospitals, spa, wellness, hotels etc. The procedure is 30-45 minutes. There is a halogenerator installed in the room which fills the air with microparticles of salt. As a medical procedure, it has to be on doctor's orders and under the care of a physician. The concentration of salt is quite high and it is recommended to consult your doctor

Salt room for private usage: You can make a salt wall at you home and get sea air 24/7. The natural salt wall works without any additional equipment. And you will not get a concentration of salt higher than close a sea. It means that you can live in this room every day. We recommend placing a salt wall in a bedroom above your bed and breath with healing salt air every night. You can also make a salt wall in a child room next to a bed or make a lounge room for the whole family.
